Duration 6 Months
Eligibility 10th Pass (minimum 40% overall and 40% in English)
Age Limit 18 to 25 years (relaxation for reserved categories)
Medical Eyesight 6/6 (no specs), no color blindness, physically fit
Approved By DG Shipping, Government of India.
After completing the course, candidates are trained to work in: * Deck Department (cleaning, mooring, cargo handling, navigation support)
* Engine Department (assisting in engine room operations, machinery maintenance)
You join the ship as an Ordinary Seaman (O.S.) or Wiper, depending on your department.

You start in the support crew, but with experience, sea service (sea-time) and by clearing the required DG Shipping exams, you can rise to officer ranks. Example Deck Career Path: GP Rating → Ordinary Seaman → A.B. → Bosun → Training → 3rd Officer → Captain Gp rating -wiper-oiler-motorman-training-4th engineer-3rd Engineer -2nd Engineer-Cheif Engiineer
ou start in the support crew, but with experience, se* COP (Certificate of Proficiency) – After required sea-time * NCV/FG COC Exams (after 36 months sea time + preparatory courses) * Conducted by DG Shipping, India * Optional: Can pursue DNS/B.Sc. Nautical Science/GME later to shift to officer track
