No separate exams like Deck/Engine Officers (COC not required for basic ETO role) * Promotion is experience-based, depending on company policies and ship type * With experience and additional training, ETOs may be promoted to Senior ETO * Some companies may allow ETOs to cross-train and become Engine Officers (after passing MEO exams)
